The Carolina Dynamo has seven former players selected in the 2009 MLS Super Draft

Sam Cronin (Wake Forest, Toronto FC) started off the day selected in the first round 2nd overall by Toronto FC. Joining Sam in the first round was Michael Lahoud (Wake Forest, Chivas) ninth overall going to Chivas USA. 2007 Dynamo players Lyle Adams (Wake Forest, DC United) and Brian Shriver (UNC-Chapel Hill, FC Dallas) were selected 11th and 12th respectively in the second round by DC United and FC Dallas. Rounding out the MLS Draft in the fourth round Chivas USA selected Jamie Franks (Wake Forest, Chivas), and Chicago Fire picked both Jokul Elisabetarson (UNCG, Chicago) and Richard Jata (Campbell, Chicago). 2009 was another successful draft year for the Carolina Dynamo.
